MAKING HUMAN RIGHTS A REALITY (CONTINUED...)
With governments, schools and youth organizations regularly adopting this campaign as an educational program, a new Human Rights Handbook was released in October 2005 to bring the Universal Declaration of Human Rights directly into classrooms.
It gives teachers and students the key terms within the 30 articles, and provides lesson plans for students to demonstrate, in action, how to use the articles.
At the same time, a series of posters and advertisements were produced to promote the handbook and to teach Human Rights.
“Starter Kits” have been produced for both youths and adults, with easy-to-follow steps and all the needed materials to start one’s own group.
Most importantly, new public service announcements have been produced to reach millions with the message of human rights. Each illustrates an article from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. To see one of these videos, click here.
