BOOKLETS GIVE CHILDREN THE TOOLS TO SAY “NO”

  • In the last year, an estimated 250 million people used illegal drugs internationally.
  • 6.1 million people have misused prescription drugs in the United States in the past month.
  • Educators, counselors, police and like-minded organizations place more than 4,700 orders every month for Truth About Drugs materials.
  • In the last 12 months, over 15 million Truth About Drugs booklets have been distributed internationally.
The Truth About Drugs campaign is made possible through your support of the IAS. It is one of the vital programs funded by IAS grants.

Requests for the Truth About Drugs materials come in every day from individuals in a position to make a difference in their zone of influence. A request may be for one educator’s package or thousands of Truth About Drugs booklets. Each order is fulfilled thanks to support from the IAS.

Here are recent responses from this IAS-sponsored campaign:

“Thank you for all the support and resources. The impact of the education program was tremendous. The Truth About Drugs documentary has been really effective in our teaching and training. We had lots of people who were drug users get extremely emotional listening to the real stories.

“It was certainly a memorable day. People drove from different locations to attend the drug education program and I have more requests for the program. We thank God for Drug-Free World—lives are being transformed.”

A.M., Drug Counselor, South Africa

“My agency and I thank you very much for the material which will help strengthen our effort to fight this war of addiction. I received the material and am so excited. All the material helps push the message that there is nothing good about these drugs.

“I have begun utilizing the material and the clients are very engaged and surprised that they did not know as much about drugs as they thought, and the video is terrific.

“I also do ministry work and I will speak with my pastor concerning introducing this material to the schools in New Jersey we are beginning to work with.”

M.T., Drug Addiction Counselor, USA

“Thank you so much! The three boxes of booklets, on alcohol, methamphetamine and synthetic drugs, arrived here yesterday. I was asked to make some available to our group in August here in our house. We have Sisters from Australia, Samoa and Solomons [Solomon Islands] and the same problems are in all three countries.

“Our youth are under attack from all directions and your booklets give them the tools to say ‘no’ with conviction to those who offer them these substances. May God bless and reward you.”

M.I., Nun, Australia

“Every year, I am asked to speak to the Good Choices Class at the local middle school and talk to the students. I use the information in the booklets as a reference when I teach. It is good to have something to hand out to the students.

“I have had several parents call me and thank me for taking the time to talk to their children and share the information with them. I have had parents come and talk to me about concerns they are having about their child being involved or getting involved with drugs. It is good to be able to have something to send home with them.

“I have had students ask me for information on papers they are working on and to be able to provide them with up-to-date and accurate information is very valuable. Educating kids and parents about the truth about drugs and the dangers they can cause is a very important part of being a School Resource Officer. The materials you provide help me in this mission and I truly believe you are making a difference in the lives of our children. Thank you so very much!”

C.M., School Resource Officer, USA
